There has been some progress on our sale but not on our purchase. We were given an ultimatum by our buyers who wanted to exchange last week with a completion date at the end of September. We said no way and they came back with a completion date of the end of October. We thought this was fair and we couldn’t expect them to wait any longer so we agreed. We exchanged contracts on the 28th of August so our house is now sold. This is a relief because we are half packed and didn’t want to go through the whole sales process again. Unfortunately, though it means that if we haven’t made any progress with our purchase we are homeless on the 30th of October. We will have to look at some sort of temporary accommodation such as an AirBnB holiday home. Hopefully, there will be more available out of season. We are praying that the people we are buying off and their solicitor get their act together and that we can complete on our purchase as well.
