Welcome to this work in progress blog about the construction of my new model railway. I previously started to build my first real model railway since I was a kid in the loft of our house. I looked upon this as a ‘practice’ layout to become familiar with all the techniques and advances in the intervening forty-odd years (such as DCC). I think I learnt a few things during the time I spent on that layout, one of which was that I wanted to document it a bit better when building my new layout. I’m too self-conscious to make YouTube videos and I think making them would distract me from actually building the layout so I’m going to try taking some pictures and writing some words in this blog. It will be a very old-school simple blog, no fancy HTML5 here!
