I previously started to build <a href=\"http:\/\/mikesmodelrailway.ddns.net\/wordpress\/introduction\/previous-layout\/\">my first real model railway<\/a> since <a href=\"http:\/\/mikesmodelrailway.ddns.net\/wordpress\/about-me\/\">I was a kid<\/a> in the loft of our house. I looked upon this as a &#8216;practice&#8217; layout to become familiar with all the techniques and advances in the intervening forty-odd years (such as <a href=\"http:\/\/mikesmodelrailway.ddns.net\/wordpress\/introduction\/previous-layout\/electrics\/\">DCC<\/a>). I think <a href=\"http:\/\/mikesmodelrailway.ddns.net\/wordpress\/introduction\/lessons-learnt\/\">I learnt a few things<\/a> during the time I spent on that layout, one of which was that I wanted to document it a bit better when building my <a href=\"http:\/\/mikesmodelrailway.ddns.net\/wordpress\/new-layout\/\">new layout<\/a>. I&#8217;m too self-conscious to make YouTube videos and I think making them would distract me from actually building the layout so I&#8217;m going to try taking some pictures and writing some words in this blog.
